The John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency Program targets core areas of pharmacy practice, with emphasis on an integrated inpatient and outpatient team approach to patient care. The goal is to prepare residents for a wide variety of practice settings. The program accommodates individual experience and specific areas of interest. PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Purpose: PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
