POSITION SUMMARY: The Stock Worker for Dining Services maintains the safety of incoming and stored food items and ensures cleanliness of the food storage areas, such as storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers. This position receives, organizes, and stocks incoming food supplies. The Stock Worker checks the temperatures of incoming supplies to ensure compliance with HAACP and maintains the cleanliness of receiving dock. This position assists in verifying items on invoice inventory lists and notifies the supervisor about damaged goods. The Stock Worker rotates, lifts, moves, stores, assigns, counts, sorts, and weighs incoming and outgoing goods. This position also picks up food, delivers goods between Dining Halls in a timely manner; delivers catering items to various locations on campus, breaks down and removes boxes, labels and dates incoming food supplies, and fills soap and paper towel dispensers at all hand sinks.
Education: Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to High School Diploma or GED that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
Licenses/Certificates: Must take and successfully pass the California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire and successfully recertify every 3 years. Must take and successfully pass a functional capacity test after job offer and prior to hire. A valid driver’s license is essential to drive College-owned vehicles.
Experience: Experience with food services and hospitality assignments at an academic institution are preferred.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full time position are 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, on a variable schedule. Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
