Walnut Creek Country Club (WCCC) was established in 1988 and offers a private club atmosphere with emphasis on family and unity. WCCC consists of over 600 members who enjoy 27 holes of golf, two restaurants, banquet facility, pool, tennis courts and a halfway house. During the year, the club services many private events, social activities, and Monday private golf outings.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Executive Chef to spearhead the culinary operations and to grow the outlets with an emphasis on member experience.
The Executive Chef is responsible for all food production while overseeing a team of Sous Chefs, a Banquet Chef, Pastry Chef and all the supporting staff in the kitchens. The Executive Chef will have a special skill set to build relationships with staff and membership, create a professional yet fun working environment, hire and train staff, work on menu and recipe development, and be responsible for purchasing and cost controls.
Food & Beverage Program
WCCC is open approximately 11 months a year and used frequently by members who live locally with goal of the club as their primary dining. The Club has two kitchens. The main kitchen services banquets, production, and The Fireside Grill. The second kitchen is self-sufficient and services The Creek Pub (“Pub”). The Pool has a small operating kitchen, as well as offering curbside from the Pub. The halfway house offers various pre-made items, snacks etc. The banquet facility can accommodate up to 250 guests or can be sectioned off for multiple groups. The Fireside Grill is a more upscale dining experience with a scenic outdoor patio that has combined seating of up to 120 seats, while the Pub has seating for about 130, including patio seating. We have a robust carryout service, as well as an online app to place orders. Throughout the year we host various golf related events, traditional events such as Easter and Mother’s Day, wine dinners, chef dinners, and brunch with Santa to name a few.

Executive Chef Job Description
Team player, working directly with front of the house staff and management
Active recruiter of and mentor to staff
Focus on consistencies, appearance, sanitation service at the highest level
Engagement with the membership to ensure the experience is exceptional and accept feedback
Physical presence in the dining rooms on a regular basis
Remain current with trends, continual education
Have a sense of fun, approachability, and calm demeanor
Ability to provide an exceptional dining experience
Develop new dishes that will keep members returning and increase use of restaurant facilities
Develop menus, recipes, and techniques that ensure consistency and quality
Evaluate vendors, creating relationships that ensure consistency and quality
Safety and sanitation training for all staff
Menu planning with the management team for special occasions and banquets
Food and labor cost controls in place
Play a role in communications, newsletter, social media
Salary & Benefits
We are offering a total compensation package which consists of salary and bonus in the range of $110,000.00-$140,000.00. Salary is open and in range of industry scale and will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
