The Venue Asheville and The Ridge Asheville are looking for an  Chef de Cuisine and or  Chef de Cuisine Position to join our fantastic and quickly growing team! This is a working position where the Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine will lead the culinary and kitchen support staff and assist the EChef de Cuisine Chef in the overall management of the kitchen, assuring an efficient and effective operation. Our chefs build a culture of teamwork, enthusiasm, and superior service with the staff; train, motivate, ability to create a positive work environment and supervise.

Job Duties:

• Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner
• Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
• Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
• Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
• Managing the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
• Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
• Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
• Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef
• Ability to multitask

• Ability to staff the kitchen appropriately
• Good track record with food and labor cots
• Assist our Executive Chef with prep and execution
• Execution of plated meals, family style, buffet, and live stations
• Must have prior large and private catering experience
• Must be professional and have proper grooming standards
• Mostly weekdays and weekends
• Must be able to lift 50# or more
• Must be able to carry items while climbing the stairs throughout the day
• Transportation is a must and being on time
• Must be able to execute events on your own and with help.
• Ability to communicate with clients during food tastings

Sample Work Week: Tuesday - Saturday (Sunday & Monday off) Prep during the week and execute events on the weekends.

Position is Full Time

Requirements:

• 1 Year Minimum Experience
• ServSafe Certified
• Must be available weekends and some evenings
