Club Information: The Harbour Club is in the West Edge area of Downtown Charleston, South Carolina. The club has enjoyed a 36-year history in Charleston and has recently relocated to a new club house on the 7th floor of 22 West Edge in the new West Edge mixed use development. The club has 1200 Members and provides a dynamic social and business environment for its members.
The Harbour Club at WestEdge is recognized as one of the top clubs in Charleston and with a new $6 Million Dollar buildout that was completed in 2020.
The club is owned and operated by BNG Hospitality who has 5 other club locations throughout the US.
The club serves breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, dinner Tuesday through Friday, and Sunday brunch.
The club has multiple private rooms, shared co-working space and a ballroom that can seat 300.
A successful Chef will be creative in developing various margined menus for special events, banquet events and restaurant. Additionally, once the Chef is established this a position where work/life balance can be achieved. The Club is closed most holidays including around Christmas and 4th of July.
Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Harbor Club is seeking a full time Executive Chef that is a dynamic leader, has a creative culinary style and experience in all types of cuisine. The Chef needs to be comfortable leading the team as well as interacting with members. The club regularly hosts member cooking classes, interactive high end wine dinners and other culinary member events throughout the year.
The Club offers ala carte service Monday through Friday for breakfast through evening service and has both a Bar Lounge with a large outdoor terrace as well as a high-end signature restaurant. The Executive Chef will be responsible for all day-to-day operations, overseeing all functions of the department including, hiring, culinary planning and execution, ordering, inventory, private events and ala carte.
Qualifications
Has 5+ years of luxury culinary experience as an Executive Chef or an Executive Sous Chef in high volume restaurant or Private Club.
Preferably, has a culinary or related degree.
Is a dynamic, creative, empathetic, and caring individual who communicates well with staff and Members.
Has exceptional and creative culinary skills, with the ability to train, mentor and manage the culinary team
Has experience planning and monitoring all food-production-related costs.
Successful experience developing food purchase specifications and standard recipes.
Is experienced with technology including POS systems such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Cloud Based Office Systems & Documents, Digital Ordering, etc.
Food Safety Certified.
Compensation:
Base Salary is in $100,000 range with incentives. It is open and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
