Are you passionate about culinary arts and have a knack for teaching? We are seeking a talented Chef Instructor to join our team at Southwestern Oregon Community College's Oregon Coast Culinary Institute. The Culinary Arts Program through Oregon Coast Culinary Institute at Southwestern Oregon Community College is accredited by the American Culinary Federation – the premier professional chefs’ organization in North America. As a Chef Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic culinary lessons to our students. Your expertise in various cuisines, culinary techniques, and kitchen management will be crucial in shaping the next generation of chefs. You will mentor and guide students through hands-on classes, demonstrations, and workshops. In addition to teaching, you will also assist in curriculum development, recipe creation, and ensuring a safe and clean kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should have a blend of culinary expertise, teaching skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. A minimum of three (3) years of full-time work as an instructor OR five (5) years of Industry experience. A possible combination of industry and teaching experience will be considered.
A minimum of an Associate's Degree in culinary arts plus proficiency and a high level of competency in the field.
Strong communication and teaching skills
Knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques

The Culinary Arts Program through Oregon Coast Culinary Institute at Southwestern Oregon Community College is accredited by the American Culinary Federation – the premier professional chefs’ organization in North America.
The accreditation is based on a variety of factors including quality of curriculum, instruction, student success, administration of the program and student service.
Upon graduation from our culinary school, students can apply for the first level of ACF certification; Certified Culinarian, (CC) for culinary students and Certified Pastry Culinarian for baking and pastry students.
