Under the supervision of the Pastry Chef, Assistant Pastry Chef, and Lead Pastry Cook, the position of Pastry Cook decorates cookies, pies, cakes, dessert bars, chocolates, and more, using recipes as deemed necessary by orders from retail, catering, online, or management. Mixes and bakes dough, batters, sauces, and more, using recipes as deemed necessary by orders from retail, catering, online, or management. Various other duties as assigned.
General knowledge at the high school level .
Ability to acquire knowledge of basic pastry techniques. Basic understanding of sanitation and safety procedures. Ability to demonstrate clean and organized work habits. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to work in a team environment and perform work in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to be flexible to work all shifts including special events.
Kitchen production experience.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to perform work that requires medium to heavy physical effort. Must be able to bend, carry, push, and pull frequently.
